How well do you think I'm doing?

Hello guys, been playing AS for a few months now but first time on the forums here.

Been having some trouble with this guy that KEEPS dethroning me from all my songs T_T and I can't defend myself well enough.

So need some opinion on my playstyle, I play Eraser Pro and have a video right here,

The guy uses Eraser too; he collects 95% of every purple blue yellow red that comes his way, basically collecting everything, and he erases a lot. For me, I tend to collect 3 out of the 4 colours depending on the speed of the song. Need to know what i'm doing wrong, because I can't stand being beaten by <10k points by this dude all the time ><

Good job!

Here are some notes:

•You get 100% bonus (correct me if i am wrong, i don't play pro) if your cluster is 100% clean.
•You can get Butter Ninja and Seeing Red bonuses if you collect (and erase) at least 95% of each traffic color.
•Try to collect all score multipliers.
•When you feel comfortable try switching to elite aiming only for green, yellow and red.

As mentioned, you really need to exploit the clear board bonus that Eraser has - I don't remember the exact percentage bonus that it gives you, but it is fairly substantial.

Don't worry too much about collecting every block for now - worry about making those clean matches. Believe it or not, a 10% overall boost is not much when you compare it to the points that you can get from large yellow and red clean matches. After you are able to make large, clean matches (removes everything on the board), work on collecting 95% of red and yellow.

I've read something about Sync bonus and clean bonus, is this what you guys are talking about?

AKA after a paint, don't collect anything? (letting only one colour disappear)

Sync bonus: a flat +30% to the amount of points as long as you have 2+ colors matched on the grid.

Clean board bonus: After a match, nothing is on the board. You get some amount extra (a percentage bonus, 2x in Elite (or +100% if you're looking at it that way), and I'm not sure about Pro).

Basically, a large red match worth 10,000 points can be worth a LOT more depending on what else you have going for you (clean board bonus, chain bonus, sync bonus, etc.)

That's pretty darn good. Trying out Eraser Elite would be my suggestion. heh There doesn't seem to be any problem to your playing, however. Everyone has a different talent. :3

Thanks MrPika =) though I realised I missed a lot of the clean bonuses and sync bonuses. And elite has too many colours for me to handle! not sure when to drop which colour actually.

Your playing looks good to me, but what do i know, i just play mono.  I would play the other modes but they make me too twitchy, and I like being socially acceptable to the ladies
