but would this effect Last.fm scrobbling at all? I don't want to go to my profile and see crazy audiosurf codes after every song. :/ I'd rather not turn it off since this is the only way I listen to  music on the PC anymore.

Why don't you just fucking read the first post?

On other news, this was long, boring and unpleasant:

[as-4lane] [as-first] [as-caterp]

^^ i'd imagine gets pretty ridiculously hard on fast songs, just tried it on Still Alive and it was kinda fun :)

[as-bankcam] on Necrofantasia is kicking my ass.  That's impossible, it's turned sideways and you can only see about 20 feet ahead of you in a single lane.   >:(

Edit:  Turning off ironmode makes it possible, but the track almost turns upside down at certain points!   :o

Simply Amazing. Thank you Dylan (And Lebeth and whoever else helped do this).

EDIT: Found a bug, 4-lane Pointman results in not being able to place blocks in the proper lanes. It appears to be divided into thirds by what portion of the track you're in, and you can't place blocks in the far right lane.

EDIT2: Found another bug, Pusher Elite on Everybody Mono still gets the 2x bonus, I don't remember this being in the radio everybody mono..

I read it on the Steam update details, which didn't say anything about Last.fm. Thanks for pointing it out, but you didn't have to be an ass about it.
as long as i have a place to pass out, i'll throw my hat in with anyone

I'm lazy.  Can you have audiosurf copy the song to a temp dir and edit the tags via some kind of in game menu?

Yeah, I agree. I love the idea of having custom gamemodes, but to have to manually edit the ID3 tags is just too much for lazy people like us. It would make all of our lives much easier (and much easier to find competition with) if you loaded the song like normal, and on that screen with the track info, you have the option of adding the custom tags to it. The name of the song on the ID3 tag will remain untouhced, while the name taken will have the custom tags on it, and you can play with the custom settings and compete against the people who are playing with the same custom tags as you, and you don'tr have to edit the ID3 tag at all, you can instantly go back to playing normal if you wanted to.

It should be easily doable, right? :)

How do I even change the tags?

Right click the mp3/music file, click properties. Go to Summary, and click Advanced. Change the Title of the track by adding a space, then the [as-] mode you want after it. You can add multiple modes by stringing this to the end of a song: " [as-4lane] [as-everybodymono] [as-monopt9] [as-bankcam]" you get the idea ;)

You know, giving someone instructions without knowing just what program they use isn't very helpful.

For instance, Winamp has no "properties" menu item, it's called "view file info", and there's no need to click anything -- it opens right to the tag editor.

YMMV depending on just what program you use.
