Sorry my pics don't work anymore, my ISP just closed my website because ... i didn't make a website (i was using it for hosting files)
will reupload the pics somewhere else.
All stereoscopic 3D enthusiasts will tell you the same thing : having native stereo rendering is the way to go.
Trackmania did it for anaglyph (and also side by side .avi rendering).
Having built-in anaglyph support can be a good thing because it makes people know that stereo-3D gaming exists, but there are some games which aren't made for anaglyph (especially NOT audiosurf).
I did try audiosurf in anaglyph (since it's all i have at the moment), and found some settings which allow me to reckognize the blocks but that's not an ideal way to promote stereo-3D,... or even play Audiosurf in the long run.
But anaglyph isn't the pinnacle of 3D gaming, it's a gadget that allows to show off Stereo3D without having to buy some expansive hardware.
I'm planning to by a 3D monitor for cristmas, so i'd just like dylan to have a look at what he can do to fix the biggest issues. I'm not sure about which model i'll take but if it works fine with one driver (without using any blackmagic... ie: nvidia driver profiling), there is a big chance the other drivers will be able to catch up without dylan having to rewrite stuff again.
(the main bugs are : the HUD and the particles depth)
If you are trying S-3D for the first time with anaglyph glasses, i suggest you try these games which look gorgeous even with anaglyph glasses : (these are game i have tested myself)
-Tomb Raider Anniversary (i didn't try tomb raider legend but since they use the same engine it should be great too)
-Devil may cry 4
You should be able to find demos for both games if you don't own them.
First person shooters using the source engine (half life 2 series) or the unreal engine 3 (bioshock, ut3) also look great but since interaction with the HUD is required (the aim reticule is on the HUD) you have to close an eye to aim (not very comfortable).
