Has anyone played any tracks from a Touhou mix? I was playing them, but didn't see anyone else on the scoreboard until right when the beta ended, so it looked more like a glitch.

Same here. Near the end of the beta, the scoreboards were empty. But yes, I did play a few Touhou songs, Phantom Ensemble first and foremost. I also played Necro-fantasy, Alstromeria Records "Masterspark feat. Ayaka," TAM's "ASIA Sophisticated ~Lunar Stream~," and "silentensemble." I was in the process of playing IOSYS's "Marisa Stole the Precious Thing," but the beta died somewhere around the first "DAWNTODAWNTODAWNTODAWNTODAWNTODAWN" part. I'm pretty sure there were one or two more I did and can't remember, along with an unholy amount I have still yet to try.

Caramell Dansen

It's a hyperactive, sugar-sweet Japanese pop song.

I forgot about that, too bad the beta's over :/

But yeah, I'm surprised that so many people were talking about playing Pump It Up songs; I need to go download the rest of the OST methinks  :D

Speaking of which, I think it's about time I get back into downloading the Initial D soundtracks as well...

I'm also curious if anyone is doing classical shit like Beethoven and Chopin. Partially because even if it's the same song, it might be played by someone else, so that might be why I never saw anyone else on the scoreboards.

Chopin? Check! I even made a video of it :)

Not my favorite song of his, but awesome. It seems that the game actually fits the mood of classical better too.

I have op. 64, no. 2 played on guitar and that turned out really well. Also works great for Oblivion.

I don't remember which songs I did. I think I actually erased the Japanese characters from one of them to play it. But I have like 8 gigs of just Touhou remixes on my computer and its been taking me months to go through them all and sift out the good ones. "Marisa" by IOSYS is one I keep coming back to.
I mostly play as the Ninja Mono, but I occasionally like to play as the eraser, or as I call it, the "ethnic cleanser"!

ZOMGDS, I almost forgot the Final Fantasy VII : Advent Children soundtrack...The piano version of Tatakau Monotachi is particularly good, and Kita no Daikudo or Violator would make an insane track!

lol I've got you beat. I have 16.5 GB of just Touhou albums. I've got a long way to go before I play through all of that, if I ever do.

And I thought 8 gigs was too much. Your collection would take me a year or two to sift through!

Playing any track from any TOUHOU game is a pretty good way to get carpal tunnel.

WOW THANKS ZUN, I CAN'T FEEL MY RIGHT HAND.

I believe that would depend on the artist. There are a few songs of Golden City Factory that I deemed worthy, but it's really not all that chaotic. It'd probably be mid-range difficulty and it's strong beat might make it even easier.

Next time I play Audio Surf, I've got to pull out some songs that I made. That way I know I'll be the only one! (mua ha ha ha)

Actually, I'd probably post them here because some of them REALLY went well with the game.

Dunno. I've played many songs that I'm completely uncontested in, like "Billy Murray - Foolish Questions" and some Vivaldi stuff. First one is more oldie than classical though :)

Chopin? Check! I even made a video of it :)

Scene: Chopin's house. The year is 1833, Chopin sits at his piano with sheets of paper scattered around him. He has just finished composing what some believe to be his greatest work.

Chopin: At last! My Grand Waltz is complete! My life's masterwork!

A flash of blue light. Enter Boeboe.

Chopin: Great merciful heavens! An apparition! Begone, demon, tempt me not!

Boeboe: Oh wow. It worked. Erm, fear not, Chopin. I am traveller from the far distant future of 2008.

Chopin: The future? Why, this is unbelievable! And yet your appearance, your clothes, your manner of speech, the great metal device standing next to you labelled 'time machine' - indeed these all bespeak of miracle science.

Boeboe: Yes, I have come far. Far, and without a packed lunch. Ooh, is that chicken leg. Do you mind...?

Chopin: Good traveller, tell me. Are my works remembered? Are they truly loved? Have they stood the test of time?

Boeboe: Yes. People still play your works, Chopin. And they listen to them, on a small device powered by electricity - much like a wind-up music box but one that produces a sound of such clarity and faithful reproduction to be uncanny.

Chopin: Really? An age of miracles!

Boeboe: Yes. And we have built machines that show artificial images - a sort of magic glass screen, and one can input information into it, and the machine 'thinks' and responds and... ah, biscuits. Let me just show you... behold, Chopin - what we're using your music for in the 21st century!

(Grand flourish, unveils laptop. Boeboe's Youtube video of Audiosurf feat Chopin's Grand Waltz is playing upon it.)

Boeboe: You see, we control the little ship, and hit the notes... it is a game.

Chopin: My God. My God. (Shakes head slowly) But why are you showing me this, my future apparition, my envoy of miracle science?

Boeboe: Um, well. I was wondering if you could rewrite the middle section just a leetle. You see there's a tricky swarm of notes that prevents me from building up the right combo and getting the high score...

Chopin picks up a gun and...
