I'm also curious if anyone is doing classical shit like Beethoven and Chopin. Partially because even if it's the same song, it might be played by someone else, so that might be why I never saw anyone else on the scoreboards.
Chopin? Check! I even made a video of it
Scene: Chopin's house. The year is 1833, Chopin sits at his piano with sheets of paper scattered around him. He has just finished composing what some believe to be his greatest work.
Chopin: At last! My Grand Waltz is complete! My life's masterwork!
A flash of blue light. Enter Boeboe.
Chopin: Great merciful heavens! An apparition! Begone, demon, tempt me not!
Boeboe: Oh wow. It worked. Erm, fear not, Chopin. I am traveller from the far distant future of 2008.
Chopin: The future? Why, this is unbelievable! And yet your appearance, your clothes, your manner of speech, the great metal device standing next to you labelled 'time machine' - indeed these all bespeak of miracle science.
Boeboe: Yes, I have come far. Far, and without a packed lunch. Ooh, is that chicken leg. Do you mind...?
Chopin: Good traveller, tell me. Are my works remembered? Are they truly loved? Have they stood the test of time?
Boeboe: Yes. People still play your works, Chopin. And they listen to them, on a small device powered by electricity - much like a wind-up music box but one that produces a sound of such clarity and faithful reproduction to be uncanny.
Chopin: Really? An age of miracles!
Boeboe: Yes. And we have built machines that show artificial images - a sort of magic glass screen, and one can input information into it, and the machine 'thinks' and responds and... ah, biscuits. Let me just show you... behold, Chopin - what we're using your music for in the 21st century!
(Grand flourish, unveils laptop. Boeboe's Youtube video of Audiosurf feat Chopin's Grand Waltz is playing upon it.)
Boeboe: You see, we control the little ship, and hit the notes... it is a game.
Chopin: My God. My God. (Shakes head slowly) But why are you showing me this, my future apparition, my envoy of miracle science?
Boeboe: Um, well. I was wondering if you could rewrite the middle section just a leetle. You see there's a tricky swarm of notes that prevents me from building up the right combo and getting the high score...
Chopin picks up a gun and...
