Update v1.2 (Final)
- Fixed some personal dislikings
- Added option to enable/disable minimize to tray
- Added right-click menu to tray
- Double will re-open the window
- Added custom startup mode option (resolution, location and screen)

Notes:
I consider this version final (besides additional bugfixes). This is because I don't want this program to become a huge interface for AudioSurf (something like Pwntastic's player). Instead, I'll be making an all new program called "MyAudioSurf Extented", which will contain multiple features as MSN/WLM plugin (no, not your code Pwntastic, already made such a thing back in 2005-2006 - http://www.vauntie.com/index.php?option=com_joomlaboard&Itemid=30&func=view&catid=2&id=6 -), a medialibrary, the launcher options, personal score tracking.

Last but not least, it will have a nice and smooth interface/look and you can choose wheter to use the extended options or just use it as a launcher. Additionally, it will also accept command-line and I might integrate it in the Windows Context Menus.

I know this all sounds like a complete rip-off of what's already available, I can assure you I already wanted to do this before I even knew those programs were already there. Besides, what's better than an all-in-one app?

I'm not sure yet, but I might open a database + site where the stats can be uploaded and displayed on a dynamic image like the Last.fm ones (together with scores that is).

Update 1.2.1:
- Fixed some bugs that came with 1.2
- Added an "Apply settings now" option to immediatly set your new resolution
- Added option to start MyAudioSurf minimized. Together with "Enable Minimize to tray" it will startup in traymode.
- Hidden the File Browser in the Tray Menu
- Made the menu more compact again

Known issue:
When you have more than 1 screen, and choose to place the AudioSurf window on any right side (top-Right, Middle-Right, Bottom-Right) on the second screen (Custom launch mode), AudioSurf will move itself back to the primary screen in a very small resolution (bug in AudioSurf I guess).

Fix:
When AudioSurf is done loading, simple press "Apply settings now" from the menu and AudioSurf will move itself back to the right spot.

I'm having a problem with this, it won't launch or configure audiosurf. I get this error ' Error: System.NullReferenceException: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
   at MyAudioSurf.frmMyAudioSurf.frmMyAudioSurf_Load(Object sender, EventArgs e)

The only way that can happen is because you eather don't have read/write access to the registry or that the the InstallPath registry isn't in the registry.

The easy way:
Luckily for you, I made your life easier and attached a new version which should precisely explain to you why it won't start See the attachment or get it here http://www.lennardf1989.com/Releases/MyAudioSurf/MyAudioSurf.exe

The hard way:
First make sure you don't have a limited Windows account, second, make sure you actually installed Steam.

If you both confirmed this, go to Start > Run and type "regedit" (without the quotes).
Browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Valve > Steam and if it isn't there, add a "New Value" (right click on the right side and choose for the second option from the top). Next name the new item InstallPath and make InstallPath aim at the location where you installed Steam (see screenshot).

Good luck Please report back if it is fixed or what error you get now.

Ps. Im not accusing you of anything, but I want to emphasize that this WON'T and never WILL work with an illegal version of AudioSurf.

Lol, I appreciate the disclaimer about not accusing me of anything . I have bought audiosurf. I don't know if it makes any difference but I didn't install steam to its default directory, I installed it to another drive. Will have a look at the registry now.

Edit, just checked and I am the administrator. Also I have steam installed, just to a different directory as mentioned above.

So, what does the new version say to you now? Any errors? Make sure InstallPath aims at the right location. It shouldn't matter, since I also installed it on an other drive

Right, I just nosed around in the registry and Valve isn't even in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE. I promise you have have steam installed and a paid for version of audiosurf. Both Steam and Audiosurf are in my programs list and both have the option to uninstall in the control panel app so they are installed.

Here's a .reg file, before applying change InstallPath to your own by opening it with Notepad or something.

The error is as ' Error: You eather don't have rights to read/write to/from the registry or you don't have steam installed!' Where do I change the install path? I can't se it in the drop down list.

Thanks m8, working now. I used the reg file you posted to set the reg to point at my steam directory ( D://games//steam/ ) and its all working now.
