==Short game summary==
Mafia is a game where there are two teams: the mafia and the townies. The mafia know eachother, but the townies have no idea who is who. Both try to kill the other team. The townies do this by voting at day, the mafia do this by deciding who to kill during the night.
==Game rules==
--Starting the game--
To start, we'll need 10 players (I don't count as a player). Just post in this topic if you want to join. Once we have 10 players, I will randomly divide the roles between you. Two people will become mafia, two will become cops, and the people without a special role will be vanilla townies. The game will be played in rounds: we'll start with night 0, followed by day 1, followed by night 1, followed by day 2, etc.
--Day voting--
During the day, everybody (even the mafia) discusses who may be mafia, and votes to lynch somebody.
Voting is done like this:
-To vote for somebody, post
Vote: PLAYERNAME
-To change vote, post
Unvote: OLDPLAYERNAME
Vote: NEWPLAYERNAME
-To not vote for anybody, post
Vote: Abstain
If any player receives more than half of the votes, he will be lynched at the end of the (game) day.
--Mafia--
Two of you are mafia.
During the night, the mafia will kill a townie.
When there are no townies left, the mafia win.
When there are no mafia left, the townies win.
--Cop--
There is two cops in the game. They are on the side of the Townies.
Every night, the cop will choose somebody to investigate.
I will then tell the cop what role the investigated player has (mafia, townie or cop).
--Other rules--
*Never show anybody the PM I sent you with your role. Anybody caught doing so will be modkilled.
In addition to being modkilled if you reveal your role or my PM with your role, you will not be able to play any mafia game any more on this forum, I would like to put this in confirmation with other mafia-game-starters/Mayors. Obviously, making people think you have a specific role is allowed*Dead people can't talk. If you're dead (or not in the game at all), don't post in the topic or try to influence the game in any other way.
*The game will start with a special night round, night 0. In this round, the cops can investigate, but the mafia can't kill. The game then proceeds with day 1, at which point the townies can vote and possibly lynch. Then comes night 1, during which the cops can investigate again and the mafia can kill.
*The day ends when everybody has chosen to vote or abstain. If people take too long to decide, they abstain by default.
*The night ends when the mafia has chosen who to kill and the cops have chosen who to investigate. Again, if people take too long, it will count as if they didn't choose anybody.
*If only one of the two mafia chooses someone to kill, that person will be killed. If the two mafia choose two different people to kill, nobody gets killed, so be sure to not screw it up.
*After every night, I will make a post stating which person has been killed, and state which role that player had. That person is then removed from the game.
Active players means active, I demand that you post at least once every 24 hours, exceptions apply only when valid by the Mayor.==Players==

Added rule: if someone is inactive for longer than 48 hours, then that person will be replaced by number 11, and the next one by number 12.
To solve any confusion: Number 11 and Number 12 will NOT play unless someone is inactive for more than 48 hours, and I will announce it if it comes to it.
