No offence BlackNailed, it looks great, but that sort of layout is more suited for a blog or a clan-site.
For example, this site:
http://www.hsxclan.com/ (currently broken in FF3) is a similar layout and has trouble doing anything but putting text in. When designing a website, you've got to look past just the aesthetics and look to your audience, future content, page load times, and bandwidth.
See, for a website of this caliber and high-amount of content, we need a lot of screen "real estate". A cramped 2-column blog-esqe layout would not do the content justice and lead to a claustrophobic feeling.
Second, our audience, audiosurf players. Most have at least 1024x768 or higher.. We need a fluid layout to benefit the lower-spectrum of users, as well as the higher resolutions. You've done well making it greater than 800x600, but it seriously needs to be bigger.
Content.. We'll be having textures, sound files (eventually), high-res screen shots, and youtube videos. We'll be connecting to a MySQL database on almost every page, querying data. Sure, the 600px section may be large enough for the textures and youtube videos, but I'd like to be able to at least zoom into almost-full resolution, with a link to the largest resolution.
When browsing through many pages of simple textures and such, we want fast load times so we don't have to wait for 3 seconds as the image-heavy page is painted. We would need a simple layout with small files and optimized code.
http://www.websiteoptimization.com/services/analyze/ is a good site to test your website on. Try to shoot for as many congratulations as possible. Although most of us still have broadband, Audiosurf does not require broadband, and that is why we shouldn't be exclusive toward broadband users.
Bandwidth.. Even though I'm offering 6TB, it is unnecessary to strain the servers and make the service slower for everyone else. We are selling the content, not the design (not literally).
This, you see, is why I like giberson's simple, fluid, optimized layout over your beginnings. Again, no offense, but for a website like this, we can't have an image-bloated design.
