Because it's about me and breaking no rules. As it's personal and directed towards me you should of asked. When I made a thread about giZm being gay, Dylan PM'd giZm asking if he wanted the thread removed, you should of done likewise.
You should check who locked that thread!
Quote
So all of a sudden you're the voice of the hundreds who visit this forum? You know what everyone wants? That's dictatorship speech if I've ever heard it.
Do you think the same when you flame people? When you're a moderator, you have to think about what everyone wants. If my decisions were bad, those threads would of been unlocked, right?
Quote
That's not what it said at all. You're doing exactly what I said above, you're twisting it to fit your own needs trying to justify the lock. Go and actually read what Laser said.

Shutting off the community? How in any respect is that shutting off the community? If anything, locking it shuts off the community.
This isn't 4chan though. In jokes don't work the same way when you can't just blend into a crowd of hundreds with ease and in time, understand those injokes. Such is the power of being anonymous. When you have a few people sitting there bantering on about something you don't even understand, the first inclination for that person is to walk away. No one wants to listen to some recognised people talk about something they don't understand. It's almost like you think we derive some kind of immense pleasure from locking threads, but we honestly don't care.

Quote
And so have I. The difference is, it seems you haven't learned anything as you're still a biased, opinion-orientated mod. Look how this is escalating, and it's because of exact same thing, moderators making stupid decisions.
So you've been posting on forums since you was 7? Sure, I'll believe that. I've ended up playing a game of TF2 with a 10 year old at midnight before, and while that weirded the hell out of me, I still think it actually happened.
I suppose I could of locked this thread, but since you honestly wanted an explanation for everything and because I'm a nice guy like that I thought why not. At the end of the day, you might think it's drama, but to everyone else it's just nothing special.

Quote
Oh how ironic. How very ironic. Just a few sentences ago you're saying you know how to make the whole community happy with your decisions, and now you're using the exact same thing as an argument? Hypocrite much?
You've obviously missed the point. I was merely suggesting that while a moderator's job is to regulate a forum and make the community happy, we are only one person at the end of the day and thus we're unable to make the perfect decision. If only people would let things slide rather than be butthurt about every decision that is made, things would be a lot easier for the community as a whole.

I really made this topic with the intention of a joke.
What joke, you ask? The one that "? he just bougth a Core 2 Duo and he's so serious and... well.. unhappy even he's saying he is?" But then suddenly it became this sort of say-what-you-think-about-mods thread. Which I really like anyway...

Which bugged me too because it was going off topic within the first 3 posts, but since we're all cool moderators, we let it slide just like everything else... because that was light-humour, and not an injoke.

That's right, but, what if it does? what if i like cody jokes and i would like to keep the thread unlocked? have you ever asked the people on this forum if they like or not his jokes?
I wish I could believe that Cody has been funny at some point.

Oh yeah, I would like to say that I also have a Core 2 Duo, overclocked from 2Ghz to 2.5Ghz, and they rock.

They're not "in jokes".

No one forces people to click on the thread, they aren't sat there listening to it.

Like all bad mods, thinking they're always in the right, like talking to a brick wall.

Why has (?) it bugged you? This is "my" (note the ") post, and if Cody sent it off topic and I let him do it by off-toping it even more, it's because i actually like it being like that.

That's right, but, what if it does? what if i like cody jokes and i would like to keep the thread unlocked? have you ever asked the people on this forum if they like or not his jokes?

Even if he hasn't, it was funny for me.

Oh, yeah! And i've missing this for so long :(

Eh it bugs me because a topic should stay on topic. It's not irc, you dont just randomly change the topic when you feel like it. If you want to continue the conversation you can make a new topic that references the other one.

You said we can't do that, and you lock topics that do. Make up your mind.

Like all bad mods, thinking they're always in the right, like talking to a brick wall. DDoS I guess. >:
Out of curiosity, have you ever contested any of my decisions to anyone else? I mean, seriously, if you really disagree with what I'm doing and had to make threads to complain about my decisions, then I assume either you haven't tried, or you have and no one is listening to you.

Perhaps they are interested in forum preservation. Perhaps they fear that as soon as they do, they are going to end up having the thread locked. I'd probably go a lot easier on the threads in general if they weren't things that came out of IRC. I at least understand that you guys are friends and things, but some things we can really do without.

You said we can't do that, and you lock topics that do. Make up your mind.
I honestly think this too, the biggest problem so far with moderating this place is the lack of offical rules. Do you want offical rules for the chat forum so we can finally outline the do's and don'ts on this place? That way we could probably be better moderators, and you'd probably stop contesting everything.

So you can come and say:

Quote from: Pwntastic
jesus, start being mature and stop posting new topics to continue locked ones.

Also, normally, chat / chit-chat sections of forums are made to people post whatever they want (always inside the rules, and even some forums have special rules for these sections).

No i didnt say that. I said don't make threads on the same topic / reasoning as a thread that was just locked.
If you want to make a new thread about something in another thread go ahead, but when a thread is locked, you shouldnt just go make a new thread on the exact same topic

Well i apologize then for being short with you and cody for creating new topics to extend previously locked ones

I agree with that. IRC topics should stay on IRC, and forum topics should stay on the forums.

That's a great idea.

It wasn't the exact same topic.
(Yeah, I double-posted, sorry about that)

That's a great idea.
I'll write some up later if others agree, but I'll base them from a very simple community like one I participate in with some friends. They are really lax, so don't worry... but they should at least stop you guys from making things we disagree with.

Done. All things considered, and hopefully this should put an end to all the stuff that's been happening for the last few weeks.
Back to the thread at hand. Virus have you tried overclocking your process for lulz yet? I wouldn't usually recommend it, but the Core Duo has reasonable reliablity on it.
