Hey, I've watched your pusher elite video but I still don't understand chaining. What is it? What bonus does it give you? Is it effective? Sorry about this, you probably explained it very well but I'm really bad at AS.

To be honest, I think the +% bonus for board clear and whatnot makes Pusher way too good compared to the others for score. There's no balance at all - a skilled Pusher beats pretty much everything else.

Pretty much, in any song that is over ~170 traffic.  However, it can't be nerfed at this point without a total score wipe, which people tend to abhor.  Other characters are being looked at in efforts to help out their capacity, but character balance shouldn't really be expected anyway.

I understand that yeah, character balance isn't going to totally exist - but the advantage Pusher has over anyone else in any song with high traffic is so incredibly massive that it's pretty stupid if you're trying to play competitively.

Maybe a feature for "high scores by character" would be good? I use Eraser Elite, and honestly - at this point, I'm competing with other Eraser Elites, not with Pusher Elites, because Eraser Elites - on songs with high traffic - CANNOT compete. That bonus that goes as high as +300% is ridiculously powerful, considering that as near as I can tell no other character gets an individual bonus that powerful.

i fell its right that eraser is lower scoring its so easy compared u don't have to worry about making mistakes, overfilling or collecting 3 white blocks and CF is guaranteed.  Also i  think u will find on really high scoring songs mono is better, and so is eraser if your good. Also if pusher lost its bonus it would become pointless as pointman would be better on all songs

Should eraser be lower scoring? Oh, yeah, I don't deny that it should be lower scoring to a certain extent. And I don't think that Pusher should lose its whole bonus, because yeah, Pointman would become better - but +300% is an amount that no other character can make up.

I don't think the characters should be *completely* balanced (since some are blatantly easier than others), but at the same time, Pusher is incredibly overpowering.

(How is Double V, competitively?)

pusher is only slightly better than pointman on most songs anyway.  I can get roughly the same score with both unless traffic is over 300k

DVE is just not as fun to play as the others, I guess.

It is fun, I get top on all the songs I play, against other "average" players. I just can't be assed to play a song a million times to find the best path to compete on songs like TTFaF. There's cheaters all over the board on the most-played songs as well.

But for the most part, yeah DvE competes well. I never clean finish and still manage to get top.

these tutorials are both very well made, and i picked up a usefull tip or two, but watching this made me wonder,
Did you succeed in performing these tactics on faster rides as well?
on both your demos you used slow-mid rhythim songs, and i wonder how these tricks of yours come to play when blocks come at you full speed and the ride curve loops and twists?
Do you keep avoiding most hot colored blocks?
When playing pointman, do you keep you left mousebutton pressed?

I want to be good at both. Reason why I am sticking to Mono is because I want to master fast movement on the highway at intense portions of songs. So after I do that, I will start using pusher or pointman.

So hey, I'm a bit confused about the basics here. I get chaining and gravity matching or whatever you called that, but your fundamental technique confuses me a bit.

What do you mean when you say you should just push certain colors to the left, and other colors to the right? When do you push them instead of just hitting them?

I am completely new to color matching characters, I've just been playing Ninja Mono. But it would be nice to be able to compete in the global boards once in a while :D
