Very nice guide. After all that, it comes down to how fast you can move your mouse :P

I've added a new section to the end, (Page 3, regarding Seeing Red and Butter Ninja) and touched up a few places to reflect the latest strats and gameplay updates.  Some new songs and replacements of the dated runs are now in place as well.  Enjoy, or don't! o/

Yeah, after I saw that Oopla somehow managed Butter Ninja and Seeing Red on almost any song, I tried it myself, and it worked well, after some training. Ultimately it made the game easier for me, since before that, I was spending too much time thinking about which color to collect which resulted in many mistakes.
This strategy makes the most sense for faster songs (traffic>220), because there you only have to collect all reds and yellows (and whites obviously), and practically don't have to worry about anything else - of course for those songs Pusher is sometimes more suitable...
As for slower songs, I am still figuring out what to do, but the best strat is probably sth. like to save some high value blocks while making large green matches.

Yes I think we can get a higher song by collecting almost all green blocks too, alterning big green matches and red+yellow matches.

i suspected u used this tactic to  8)

I use greens a lot to match other matches and "backstack" reds or yellow. so the multiplier on the reds or yellows is bigger

I just tried playing a song collecting all greens, yellows and reds... it was insanely hard! But it worked, on slower songs or songs with few reds/yellows I would definetly get more points this way.  I guess I will (try to) use this from now on on songs with < 200 traffic congestion.
I guess the reason it works is that you rarely get equal amounts of greens, yellows and reds, so the loss of points due to smaller matches is not that great and more than compensated by the larger total amount of matches. Furthermore, chain losses shouldn't happen anymore.

I also sometimes try more complex things, such as trapping reds between yellows, which ultimately allows you to form more and larger yellow or red matches than would be possible if you collect both at the same time... but it is simply too difficult for me keep track of the current match pattern and still collect all blocks (all = sometimes more than 95%).

no you can't, white blocks don't count as a "match" when they are next to one another...

Or when they're not next to eachother, for that matter.
