Though I may have eventually gotten around to trying this as a fix for my problem, it would not have been my immediate solution. Thanks a ton!
Haven't seen any other posts or topics mentioning this so figured I would share my problem. Haven't played in about a month or so. Just today got a bunch of soundtrack music from an old NES favorite, Faxanadu, figured I'd pop those in and see how it ran through Audiosurf (it was great fun once I got everything working). Here's the problem it was giving me.
Playing as Pointman, there were several noticeable problems or oddities right off. First, as the track is fast pace and completely "downhill" there was no reason I should have had purple squares (I never see purple squares in Pointman anyway) But there they were. Problem two, the normal rows of "boxes" were... missing. As I started to play, I hit squares but they didn't begin stacking, and I did not start gaining score. Played all the way through and finished with a score of Zero. Thinking perhaps it was something to do with this new track I was playing, I went back and tried a few favorites that I play off an on. All had the same problem/oddity. It would not have occurred to me to verify my files as a fix for this, though if I tried long enough to fix it (as opposed to giving up and playing something else), I would eventually have tried that.
But, it did indeed work. I had to relogin for everything, other than that, completely painless and relatively quick. So again, thanks!
