I have been messing around with the traffic textures to find some that work. There was originally a post by Dylan in 2/2008, referring to it, but it seems to have been deleted. Anyways, all you have to do is take any picture, make it a .png, and label it traffic.png, then put it in the textures folder, and voila, the car rectangle shape has been changed to whatever picture you've selected. It has some issues, as, they appear as square 2d objects, not 3d ones, and apparently, do not support transparency, but it is still fun to play around with. I don't know anything about programming, but I thought it might be easy for someone to make a simple one, to select the picture, convert if necessary (if possible), move it to the correct location, and label it traffic.png. Do you think it would be possible to add this functionality to your incredibly awesome program for the skyspheres?
Please let me know. :-)

That's a good idea. I will try to make it but I can't promise to have it soon.

No worries, if it ever is added, I'll certainly enjoy it, lol

Thanks! This is brilliant. Makes me more interested in playing around with different textures, now that it's so easy to swap and adjust them.

It looks like the bot just searches threads, looking for lengthy posts, then adds them to its database and uses them when it finds an appropriate place to use them.
Although it looks like it had an uh-oh here.

Thanks for your comments. I'm planning to add more features, but I haven't had time to do it. If anyone wants to modify the program or use the code for something else I've attached the source code to this post.

Thanks, easy to use!
I do have a couple small issues. It seems I can't have it select all the way to the top or bottom of any picture. Also, I have a widescreen, what resolutions should I type in? I've just been playing with the tiling number to get an okay looking ratio.

Not being able to select all the way to the top or bottom is on purpose, it needs some pixels to fill the top and bottom parts of the skysphere. The automatic option for the tiling number should select the appropriate ratio. For the resolution any value should work (but you may need to adjust the tiling number) just don't use a too large value otherwise your videocard may run out of memory.

So instead of resizing, mirroring and cropping an image to try to make a good sky sphere I decided to write this small tool. Simply load any file, select the most interesting area and the center of the image and it will do the rest.
It is written in C# so you will need the .NET framework 2.0 (or Windows Vista, Windows 7). If you want the source code just tell me.
Update 1:
Now it actually reads the custom sizes you type
Image borders can be blended so your sky sphere doesn't have visible seams
Can directly write the skysphere to Audiosurf's texture folder
Update 2:
Added an option to mirror the image (selected by default, images with text should look correctly now)
Should find Audiosurf even if you installed steam outside of %ProgramFiles%
Update 3:
Added buttons to reset the textures to their default value
Redone the user interface
Update 4:
This doesn't add new features, it just fixes a typo and adds some minimal cosmetic enhancements.
It cant find my audiosurf, what should i do? I'm using the program u posted

Have you got the most up to date version of AudioSurf through steam?
