The song that made you go to the next skill level...
« on: March 26, 2008, 06:37:04 pm »
When I first started out, I thought songs like Led Zeppelin's ' Rock n Roll' was difficult.  Then I tried B.O.B. by Outkast and it stepped up my game to a new level.  Now, B.O.B. is easy.  The progression of skill in AudioSurf can change so much with a new song.

5 hours straight of ninja-mono ironmode "Dragonforce - Through the Fire and Flames" to get stealth taught me a lot.  It's a rather easy song now, but at the time I even had issues with mono pro ironmode.

Cirrus - Break In. 365 traffic. Taught me how to weave around blues and fill in certain red/yellow comboes with pointman. From there, I went to Eraser.

The first time I played audiosurf I thought Still Alive on mono casual was hard, then as I started playing the Ninja Elite class I tried Prodigy - No Good (Start the Dance) and I remember thinking that track was insane so *I just had to stealth it*.
Took quite a while but that's the song that got me to increase my skill level.
After that it was alabaster encounter  ;D

Vamo Alla Flamenco from the final fantasy 9 soundtrack on ninja mono. It's not blazingly fast but damn theres alot of greys and it's quite short, which is always handy. I think the song plays really well and I had no quarrels playing it for 2 hours straight.

Until the End of the World by Apoptygma Berzerk.  It taught me how to be HARDCORE.
I'm sewage flavored.

Black Sheep by Sonata Arctica... I played that song starting with Ninja Mono and kept practicing it through Eraser Elite all the way to Pusher Elite. Constant downhill action for the win.  ;D

I went to Ninja Mono rather fast because I got bored of mono after about 3 songs. I think either "Needled 24/7" by Children of Bodom or "Lifelight" by Andy Hunter brought me to a "new skill level". Though, I'm still trying to get a higher skill level (and still trying to stealth those two songs).

I started out on casual mono for about 8 mins, for 2 songs, then stepped up to Pro for 20 mins, then went up to Elite and stayed here.

TTFaF was the first song I spent lots of time to do, then came Encounter.

I started with Ninja Mono. Demon Hunter and Thousand Foot Krutch made me fall from glory. Now I exclusively play Mono Pro.

I love my Ironmode Casual Mono, but failing to beat a guy in "Metro Luminal - Isa tuli koju" in that mode, i switched to Ironmode Mono Pro and beat his pro score. :D

Since then i Mono Pro a lot more.

Last of the Wilds by Nightwish, did that song on Pro, and thought damn my score sucks, so I went to Elite, and Ironmode stealthed that sucka on my 2nd try, found some guy had a better score then me so spent the next 3 hours trying to beat it (Most of that time was spent collecting greys and trying to find a good route to collect all the colours, managed to get it just, never going back to Pro now.
