High Points and a Challenge? Try Dol Ammad!
« on: March 25, 2008, 12:09:26 pm »
Sounds like an ad, I know, but, I played a few songs from this band last night, and only found that a very few people must know about this band because in the high scores there were either 3 to 5 people who played or none. Dol Ammad plays fast songs that can give you a challenge, and I would like to see more scores, so I can challenge and be challenged by others with this band's music.

In a nutshell:
Dol Ammad is the music spaceship that combines 3 initially very different music worlds and ultimately proves that good music should be free of rules, unprejudiced and universal. Mixing elements from the electronic, the operatic and the heavy metal music worlds, Dol Ammad have created a new universe of sounds and feelings. Their music is characterized by the plethora of sounds, the adventurous compositions and the now 14 member choir (7 men – 7 women) who are the “singer” in Dol Ammad.

It's fun to surf to these songs! Two songs I recommend that will set you up for a challenge are Vortex3003 and Master of All. I will put those two songs up to share in a while, and post the link, but for now...

Here are some links to hear some of their music:
http://www.dolammad.com/portal/page.php?id=7
http://www.myspace.com/dolammad

There are no full downloads, from the websites, so if you want to surf to their music you will have to purchase it. :) ...Or just wait for my next update when I upload the two song samples.

Enjoy!

I just added one more. It's more faster and generates nearly 95% red traffic. For those of you who love total downhill  :D

I'm liking the music, Tombraiser... or Vixee... whichever you prefer...

As soon as my newsreader finishes updating, I'm going after that Heavy Metal Universe high score!

Did a few tracks from Land of the Free II so far, as that and Sigh No More are the only GR LPs i own... i did hit up Amazon and ponied out the $.99 for Heavy Metal Universe though. (BTW, To Mother Earth is a kickass song to surf)

Glad to hear that you all are liking it!

Hey wowbagger1, If you want my spot on Heavy Metal Universe, go for it! Haha, I'm actually feeling a little let down by the competition I have out there so far. I mean, most of the songs I play, I'm playing them for the first time, and at the end when I see my scores, I'm either the only one playing, or getting a "that was a way too easy score to beat" kind of feeling. Heh!

I just got done surfing Beyond the Black Hole. A song from Gamma Ray's older album...and of course I'm on top again!  ::) The only album of Gamma Ray I don't have is their newest one Land of the Free II. But, I will get it! And, going to make high score on it too...just watch me  :P

Anyways, again glad you guys like the songs I posted. I'll try to find some more that you all might find fun to surf. Well, back to the game. See you all later.

OK, Tombraiser... I'm afraid you have me on Heavy Metal Universe... i played through it twice... got every block i saw... and you still got me by 8000. I couldn't get that elusive Match11 you have either.

I do believe i may have made up for it with the Dol Ammad songs though :-)

I think you'll love LOTF II... it was really my first exposure to Gamma Ray, as i'm only now just getting into the whole Power Metal/Fantasy Metal genre.

I've add you guys to my friends list on Audiosurf, so I can see what songs you've played. Wow, I don't think I have any of the albums you all have. My music collection is pretty much Power Metal.

Wowbagger1, I saw you trying to get my score :P Well, that's cool. On Heavy Metal Universe, I think that I got that score the first time around too. I went back to play it again tonight, but I never got any higher than 99,000 something, so I must have been in the zone that day. Haha.

I saw the Dol Ammad score you got. Damn, that's pretty high. Does that mean that you got all the blocks and everything 100%? I'm still trying to figure how the scoring system works.

Okay, I'm headed back again for another hour...then I'm going to have to force myself off of the computer and go to bed so I won't be grumpy tomorrow morning for work!  ::)

nah, i missed a block or 2 here and there... Stealth means you didn't hit ANY greys (+30% of your total score)... Clean Finish is when you finish without any blocks in your tray. (+25% of your total score)

Wow, Ecilpse is pretty crazy, I was actually feeling a bit dizzy half way through. I have a song which isn't quite as fast but imo it's harder. Give "408 - pandemonium, the castle frozen in time" a try if you can get it, that song was haaard  :'(

I tried that song you posted. Lots of Reds!!! I was thinking that this was going to be lighter colors since the song is mellow. I thought that only fast and upbeat songs gave hotter colors. It was difficult to play, because I never knew when the road was going to start speeding up, when the music generally stay in the same tempo. But, I would say it is pretty challenging because the score I got makes me want to cry! Haha  :D
