Now, let me preface this all by saying that I can compose and write music. I just stink (euphemism) at it.

I also love Audiosurf, and, specifically, road trips.

The Creative Commons License gives people the right to use your music you release under it in a project. So I decided to make a marathon (15 minutes long), to showcase some Creative Commons music and the potential of Audiosurf.

This is an experiment to see how many people play a fifteen minute song.

The .mp3 version is recommended, but the .ogg is smaller.

Original Marathon (15 minutes, Normal Difficulty)

MP3:

OGG:

Thanks. About the download speeds, is it you or Mediafire? I could host them somewhere else.

I'm getting 110-200kb.  Some people consider this slow and I would call them picky.

I wouldn't be too happy about it, but you can play Audiosurf while it downloads. That makes it all better. Smiley

I may do some more. I would have two or three by now, but Audacity (and Steam, thank goodness I made a desktop shortcut) don't like to show anything other than their outlying UI (I can see the buttons, but no audio data), and I had to get a new tool. (WavePad is what I'm using for now).

If you can Stealth through with Mono (any difficulty), you are awesome.

Yeah. I stormed the ogg version. with 160k score. Ninja and clean mono pro.
Now for the MP3 one.

It needs to be faster. It was only fast twice, and even then I do faster.

I should try on Ironmode. It looks better.

Faster one on the way! First post updated. Temporary setback. Make sure you have the right window while saving an MP3, kiddies! It could hurt you otherwise.

In other news, a video game remix one is coming up next. No guarantees on length or size, but at least 15 minutes, to constitute Marathon status.

Old news now. Does the one up on Mediafire have the ID3 tag? I may need to re-upload.

Just finished the 1st set (mp3) and ID3 tags were there - matched up with your score list.

1st off... very beginning was very fun - overall great 15 min run. Good pick on the Doom 2.

Now someone needs to mix in some Doom 1 Music.. especially episode 1 map 5 (phobos lab).

dam now im gonna have to play all my Doom 1 tracks. i'll have to check and see if they are tagged right.

Glad to hear you liked it. I'm pretty sure the first two have ID3, just not sure about the third. I closed out of WavePad and it said "Do you want to save your changes?" after I uploaded it.
