I don't have that texture folder...
I looked in C:/Program Files/Steam/Steamapps/Common/Audiosurf/Engine But there isn't any texture folder or file or whatever looks like that. I windows searched (Vista) 'hit1' but it didn't find anything.
Why isn't there any?

After a bit of umm'ing and arr'ing I've decided the rings look quite silly on slow songs as they were predominately designed for fast tracks and long tunnels. However, I've altered the 'depth' or 'fins' lol to be alot shorter so they don't look quite as absurd now on their own. These look pretty much the same in long fast tunnels btw.

If anyone wants the kitty fireworks, here they are for black background. Put them in the texture file, save your original textures either in an alternate name or folder, and take out the "kitty".

For white background, open the file in paint and hit Ctrl+I to invert it

By the way, I also made solid kitty tunnel rings, but they sometimes slow down, and get choppy in really intense (400+ traffic) songs, not to mention making everything completely blind.

hahaha, holy crap, I just made the game about 10 times tougher during super fast sequences:



The blocks blend to the color of the rings, and it obscures your view by a lot!   Grin

Obligatory.  Stargate rings (only for black background).

merquryman made a white background version.

Another preview of the alternate version above, shows more of the subtle lines on the track. (sorta trippy when waves of rings come at you... also, when looking at the distance from a low angle... the opacity accumulates as rings stack up in your view—but not to the extent that you are blinded, I hope).
