Some Feedback from Austria
« on: January 12, 2008, 01:15:18 pm »
Good evening, guys!

Thank you very very much for this awesome game, it's one of the most innovative games I've ever had the honour to play.
After long weeks of waiting for your mail, it blew me away when I first tried it!

Anyway, some feedback for you:

  • auto-updater finished successfully
  • playing smoothly with premium graphics settings
  • widescreen resolution (1680*1050) automatically dedected *thumbs up*
  • tutorial maybe could also inform about overfilling columns & respawning
And I've also got an idea, which would be only a small change but a major improvement:
When selecting a song, I can be annyoing to scroll down the huge list of folders (for example, I've got 1000+ folders in my iTunes folder)
What I would like to propose is to add a feature which allows you to jump down to a folder by pressing a key, like in the Windows explorer
(for instance, hitting the 'D' will make the selection jump down to 'Daft Punk', or whatever the first folder starting with 'D' is...
or even more complex, typing 'PRO' will bring you to 'Prodigy', or anything starting with 'PRO')

An second improvement would be to allow the user to set a folder as 'favourite', which then is always the standard selection for choosing a song
for example, after setting D:\Songs as favourite, you're always taken there when you select a song

I hope I was able to explain what I meant, and again thank you very much for this wonderful game!

regards, Jako

Thanks! We really like the idea of being able to type in letters to get to a song folder faster--we'll try to get that in there.

Cool, that really would mean an improvement to people with lots of music...

Another suggestion:
In the game's menu, in the top right corner, there are three grey buttons to minimize, close, whatever...
I don't really like the grey windows design of those buttons, why don't make new buttons matching with the style of the other buttons?
Of course, this is only a matter of design...

What came to my mind when looking at the menus in general: Have you guys been playing a lot of Trackmania?  :)

I've played tons of Trackmania, but I don't think Albert (the graphic designer) has...

Thanks for crediting the 3 buttons in the top right as having a "design" :)  I've gotta fix those.

Jako, I totally agree, the style seemed very similar to Trackmania United. That's not a bad thing either   :)

Yeah, I also like the style of the menu.

@Dev: Think about including a 'favourite' feature which allows you to set one folder as favourite.
Otherwise, every time you play the game, you have to navigate from the overview to your personal music folder...
