Fantomas!!! Seriously this games is like made for Fantomas! (Try The Godfather song)
Also Spike Jones works out pretty nicely. (Try Der Fuehrer's Face song)
But Frank Zappa doesn't seem to create that spectacular rides as the two artists mentioned above. It could also be that I haven't found the right song, so if someone does, please let me know.
Also everybody has to try the Rossini's William Tell Overture (finale). It's a blast

Lol, I know damn near all of those artists.. Now I feel like a geek, because I know (almost) all the artists mentioned here.
How about some korean Hip-Hop, I haven't had a chance to try it out yet, but Leessang might provide a nice slightly more laid back track.. And Clazziquai (not hip-hop) probably has a couple interesting tracks.

If you manage to find something by Metro Luminal, try it out! Amazing rides. Fuck Yuo I Am A Robot is fun to play as well. See www.fuckyuoiamarobot.com - they are distributing their album for free there. EDIT: All songs besides the 4th and the two last ones are rather 'uphill'

Oh wow, most of the songs I've played it seems haven't been played...
Though I was a bit surprised someone else played one of the songs by 403 that ISN'T in either of the Nightmare City flashes. XD (Song in question: Yokumoryuu Yamikaze, EXCELLENT song, very fun, though I made the mistake of giving Ninja Mono a try when I know I can't manage it @_@)
In reply to some of the artists posted... hmm I have some Toy-Box maybe I should play them... also Dir en Grey... hehe.
Anyway, my list (off the top of my head) for this:
-Megumi Hayashibara (Treat or Goblins is fun~) -Tyr (Viking metal ftw) -And One -Lolita (yayyyy Eurobeat. Heart Attack and Hurry Man were fun :3~) -403 -ALI PROJECT
Eh I'll think of more. Maybe after I play some more I'll have more to list.

DM824... I wouldn't say Circa Survive is THAT obscure, but they might be underplayed - I own every Elite #1 on every song they have, heh.

Lazytown is a children's show, which pretty much automatically makes it not obscure. Plus, it's used in Idiots of Garry's Mod.

"World's end Girlfriend" is an obscure japanese artist with an obscure name. post-rock/electro. DayDream Loveletter http://www.noble-label.net/mp3/weg_daydream.mp3 is my favorite and a good exemple of his style, and most of the "Lie Lay Land" album.

Alter Bridge, Alter Bridge, and Alter Bridge. Rock-'n'-roll fused with a modern sound, while incorporting some elements of heavy metal. Not to mention a library of amazingly poetic and melodic songs. A perfect addition to any Audiosurf library.
