AudioSurf for iPod, PSP, Mac, NDS, Xbox360, XBLA, Wii, etc

Does anyone else out there think that this game would make a great iPod game? think about it, you're on a train, bus, plane, car or whatever and you can play audio surf till your destination is reached how cool would that be? It will never happen though coz Apples developers are so far up thier own arses they have to open their shirts to clean their teeth, so they won't consider anybody elses software. Need proof of that? Take a look at iTunes, what a peice of crap that is!

Using this as an impromptu summary post:  Audiosurf for PC uses a special engine called Quest3D that is written for windows and can't be ported to any other platform.  The ZuneHD version was a complete rewrite, as any new version will have to be.  Dylan has not as of yet announced a new port, if indeed he is thinking about or working on one.  And finally, to quote myself from page 7 or so:

Once again, just saying you would really like Audiosurf on <insert anything that can play a game here> is not suggested and will be deleted.  We all know already, and most of us likely either agree or have several very good reasons why it wouldn't work.  Use the search function to see if your selection has been discussed; if you have nothing more to add than what is already there, don't bother posting.
As far as I know(and correct me if I'm wrong):

So...you basically said how cool it would be to have something, and then bashed the only people who know how to make it? You obviously use Windows, as iTunes in OS X is still the best music software.

Sorry if my opinion upset you but iTunes causes me more headaches than enough (yet again this morning I was updating the videos and it removed 7,000 songs). All because the developer wants you to work their way but an amount of flexibility would be good. Anyway enough is enough the forum is about Audio Surf not how bad iTunes is.

You don't know whether it will or won't happen. Technology is improving, and the prospect of someone possibly porting a client of QuestViewer3D to something like an iPhone or any other phone is always a possiblity. Shutting something out just because it doesn't seem possible now just means you're giving up on the idea.

I'm just tired of seeing threads on it right now.

I would imagine that with the money Dylan is getting, he could afford to hire a programming team to write their own engine for the sequel, anway. And an iPod Gen9 Engine. And a Windows Mobile 7 Engine.

well hiring a team of people to code an engine for you sort of detracts from the 'independant developer' model
if i were dylan (and this is completely theoretical) i would hire a team only as a last case scenario, where i really need to get audiosurf out to ipod or windows mobile or whatever and am unable to do it myself
after creating a game pretty much on your own, i'd think you'd want to keep it that way

the only (that means nothing else) version of Audiosurf is for pc and you need Steam.
i don't count illegal versions.

It would actually not be that hard to make, but the problem would probably be analyzing the songs without making the iPod explode. Maybe it would be possible to do it without all the cool effects, with lower quality and with only one character (and no online capabilities, of course).

That actually gave me another idea: make a Freeride Audiosurf for iPods. They most likely won't be able to support something too complicated, so using Audiosurf as a visualizer would be good enough, at least for me.
But of course, as everyone said, it won't happen.

IF there was a final version and/or that it was possible to update WiiWare games, I would support this idea.
Also, it needs a few songs from start for those who don't have SD cards.
But I support the idea.
