Your Three Stealth Achievement Songs
« on: March 09, 2008, 09:42:54 am »
Post the three songs you rode to unlock the Stealth Adept, Master, and Legend Achievements!

Artist - Song Title, "Album Title"

I simply scanned my music collection for the most mellow songs I could find, in the hopes of creating a track that wouldn't kick my ass while I worked on those achievements. Here's what I ended up with.

Stealth Adept (3 min): Enya - Boadicea, "The Celts" (3:31 playtime)

Pretty standard Enya track, very slow and easy to maneuver, there were a couple of tight parts near the end, the only place it gets tricky is about 1:07. If you make it through that, you're over the hump. I find it's still hard to quickly navigate between gray blocks on very steep bumps where you don't have a lot of opportunity to glance ahead and see what traffic is like. Only took a couple of tries to get through this one.

Stealth Master (7 min): Enigma - Page of Cups, "Voyageur" (7:01 playtime)

Page of Cups is one of those staple slow instrumental tracks that Enigma typically has in the middle of the album. This one worked out perfectly since it was 1 second longer than the requirement for this achievement. Not too much craziness to report here, it was smooth sailing all the way through...got it on the first try.

Stealth Legend (11 min): Geinoh Yamashirogumi - Illusion, "Akira: Original Motion Picture Soundtrack" (13:57 playtime)

My wife seems to think I cheated on this one.  ;D Hey! A song is a song! This is off of the movie soundtrack to the anime film "Akira", and is a standard Kabuki-theater themed track. There really isn't a lot of rhythm at all, and very minimal amounts of music, laced with the traditional Japanese singing...comprised mostly of "Yo! Whoa!" repeated. Due to the makeup of this song, the track was EXTRAORDINARILY slow, and not complex by any means whatsoever. If you want a simple stress-free song to unlock this achievement, here it is.

The pickings were pretty slim for slow, 11:00+ songs in my music collection. If you think this is a cheap way to get the achievement, but still want a reasonably slow, easy song, here are some alternates:

Delerium - Sensorium, "Semantic Spaces" (12:06 playtime)

This one was my first choice and is pretty slow until about 7:11, where the rhythm picks up for a few minutes...and I accidentally ate a gray brick. If you can get through that part and hold on until 10:25, you'll be over the hump.

Enigma - Principles of Lust (Sadeness/Find Love/Sadeness Reprise), "MCMXC A.D." (11:44 playtime)

This is the 2nd song off the first Enigma album, which is actually three songs spliced together. It's reasonably slow, and could make for a more challenging attempt at the achievement, due to the "boom--boom-cha--boom--boom-cha" rhythm that would keep the track pretty bumpy.

Stealth Adept (3 min): lol if I can remember.  I stealthed a lot of 3+ min songs before I knew about the achievements.

Stealth Master (7 min): Bleed - Meshuggah, "obZen" (7:25 playtime)
Took me a while, but I got it.

Stealth Legend (11 min): I - Meshuggah, "I" (21:00 playtime)
Was easier than I thought.  I was tired of Eraser, so I decided to play some easy mode and happened the stealth this on the first try.

Stealth Adept: Don't remember, but I might as well list this one here, since it's not long enough for the other two and I'm DAMNED pleased with it  ;D

DragonForce - Heart of a Dragon (5:22)

It's DragonForce, and not one of their slow songs either... Madness all the way! ;D

Stealth Master: Edguy - Tears of the Mandrake (7:11)

Regular metal staple for Edguy, very fun to ride.

Stealth Legend: Symphony X - Rediscovery Part II - The New Mythology (12:00)

Another metal piece, and I object to the shape of the track Audiosurf thinks it is. It is NOT that sedate an uphill song... :P
A bit tricky since it's slow, but has fair bit of congestion, not too difficult though.

Stealth Adept
"And The Smokers And Children Shall Be Cast Down" -Showbread (5:08)
This song is about medium difficulty, starts off slow and then gets fast about a minute and a half into it.

Stealth Master
"To Whom It May Concern" -Underoath (7:03)
Another medium difficulty song. Also goes from slow to fast. Then to slow again.

Stealth Legend
"Zam The Assassin And The Chase Through Coruscant" -John Williams (11:07)
A very easy song that I did because I was tired of hitting one gray block 8 minutes into "The Island: Come & See/The Landlord’s Daughter/You’ll Not Feel The Drowning" by The Decemberists.

I believe that for Adept, I used "I'm So Worried" by Monty Python :D
But I suck at all my 7+/11+ min tracks (or they have massive [over 10-minute] silences which hide secret tracks so I can't play them)

Stealth Master
I used "Genius In France" by Weird Al Yankovic
I managed to get 163k, grabbing me the world best score above an eraser and pointman elite, and more than double the other ninja monos

Stealth Master: St. Germain - Rose Rouge "Tourist"

Nice mellow song in the green/yellow region. Had to retry a couple of times but I got it :)

Edit
Stealth Legend: Enigma - Principles of Lust (Sadeness/Find Love/Sadeness Reprise), "MCMXC A.D."
Good tip! nice mellow song that's very doable once you get to the middle part.

And finally:
Stealth Adept: Farbrausch - The Product (loader) "fr-08 final .the.product"

Song from a demo from Farbrausch, a German demo group. This song is played during the loading screen, and I have ever only heard the first 4 seconds of it because by then my PC will have loaded the demo (64K). Perfect elevator music :P

Just don't try what I did... namely, attempting Stealth achievements with a stand-up comedy track. Any spot of applause spits a nightmare river of gray blocks onto the track.

Stealth Adept
Don't remember, stealthed so many different songs at this point.

Stealth Master
Metallica - Master of Puppets (8:35)
This was insanely hard, it took me a couple days to get this one, but it was the first serious song that was fast and long.  I consider myself a much better surfer because of this song and could probably stealth it again in less than half an hour.

Oh and anyone that knocks on ninja mono players only has to play some very difficult songs, because it helps to train your agility.  I can pick a white block out of a string of purples because of it on other modes.

Stealth Legend
I was short on 11+ minute songs so I ended up picking "Mischief Managed" track 21 from the Harry Potter & The Prisoner Of Azkaban soundtrack (12:06).  It's mostly classical and slow but has a few parts where it unexpectedly gets some fast movement.  If you don't memorize those fast movements you'll fail it, and one of them is about 10 minutes into the song, which makes for some annoying repetition.  Eventually got it down, though.

Hope it's ok to continue this rather than starting a duplicate topic...

Stealth Adept: Cueshark - I'm A Noob (3:57)
A relatively mellow track made by a friend. It's available for free download. I had to check the date/time I unlocked the achievement and compare it to .ash file creation date/times to recall which track I used.

Stealth Master: Incandescent Void - Falling Through Timeless Space Eternal (7:03)
A friend's dark/space ambient music, which turned out to be an easy choice. This track is also available for free download. I then tried using the same artist for Stealth Legend.

Stealth Legend: Nurse With Wound - Brained By Falling Masonry (11:43)
I made numerous attempts on a 16 minute dark/space ambient track thinking it would be easy, but couldn't quite get it. I looked around for what other 11 minute songs I had, tried the Nurse With Wound track and surprised myself by stealthing it on the first go. It was a lot of fun because it's such erratic music.

3 min stealth = one of songs in the FIRST world tournament of AS

7 min stealth = Knights of Cydonia by Muse

11 min stealth = N/A

ninjutsu = Oceans of Glory - Saint Daemon (or something like that)
