Unfair?
« on: March 08, 2008, 02:49:36 am »
Well, I have just played Slipknot - People=Shit 10 times to try and beat someones highscore, I played it on Iron Mode, got Clean Finish, Match 11 and Stealth, I only missed 1 coloured block and get the nearest perfect score, 140,303 including bonuses, I played it on Mono (Easy), and I should be number 1, but because someone has an easier track than me, not the original which has an upwards bit at the end, they have 900 more points than me, now I have reported it, but It never gets fixed. Feel free to comment or post your experiences like that here.

Can you post a screen of what your tracks both look like?

Not all tracks from the same song will be the same.  The blocks end up in slightly different places even if you have identical song files, and some peoples tracks have corkscrews while others have none, or they have them in a completely different section of the song.  That 1 sec difference can change the track, as well as the bitrate it was encoded at.

Theoretically you should go back to the track and figure out blocks to skip to find bigger combos.  ;)

Dude, I'm playing it on Mono, I don't have to worry about combos and overfilling, I only missed 1 block, that couldn't add up to 900 on scores.

No, no.  Look for bigger combos by skipping the little dinky 3's.  For every block you skip, make sure you at least pick up one extra one for the new combo.  So if you come across a group of 3 blocks, but you see in the distance another 4 blocks that you can't normally reach, pickup 2 of the blocks in front of you, and grab the next 4 to make a larger combo.

Mono isn't about hitting every block; you get something like 60 points for every block hit max?? (not too sure about this) so a lot of the time its better to skip the odd block if you can make a bigger combo later on up the track.

900 more out of 140K? And you think it's wrong, yet don't even understand how one could get a better score on mono with a bit of strategy?

Wow.

I'm 100% positive there's nothing to report here except the OP's ignorance.

If it was say... 50k more then you could start to be suspicous maybe... but 900 points? The difference in track loading by AS can easily account for that. Probabaly he has just slightly higher traffic than you, or found a better combo.

you cant base reporting someone off of how hard you try...
