The problem with ID3 Data
« on: March 07, 2008, 11:28:40 pm »
Ok, so it really pisses me off when you have the high score on a song, and then someone goes and renames the ID3 tags of a much longer song so that they can get the high score. Check out the screen shots below.

What used to be my high score on the real song that is 4:22 long (Search iTunes to verify this).

Here is the new high score with a song that is 12:13 long.

Four times a long to get 50% more points!

You can see that most others below are playing the 4:22 song.

I guess that the high score tabulation needs to be able to separate songs based on length.

By the way the longest remix of this song that I can find is on the Amazon MP3 store. It is only 10 min long.

So after making the above post I happened to notice the "Report" button on the high score page.  :o

Kudos to the developers for providing a solution to the problem.

Sorry I didn't discover it until after complaining.   ;)

I'm sure some people are purposely editing the tags to get high scores (which is lame), but a lot of people probably aren't.
