Quest3D Bug for Win2k - Possible Fix?
« on: February 17, 2008, 09:21:04 am »
For those of us running win2k and trying (seemingly futilely) to play Audiosurf, we get the following error message when launching the game:

"A channel that is needed for this project was not found in the installation path : 87735CBE-1DBF-4738-A0A1-F179AF0CE904"

I looked in the Quest3D folder and found a "channels" subdirectory full of .dll files all named like the one missing from the "installation path".

Could someone who is able to play Audiosurf try to locate this "87735CBE-1DBF-4738-A0A1-F179AF0CE904.DLL" on their computer and upload it so we can try adding it to the directory to see if that fixes the error?  I've tried every method of searching the web for that file I can think of and my efforts have born no fruit.

tomlouie that fixed it for me!

I dl'd HexEdit and changed a single string and suddenly this game that does not support win2k works.

Beauty.
