For reals? Aw, thanks. I did the sound effects and I liked the crowds one but thought it was the weakest of the ones we had (I got some strong dislike comments from people) so designed another more ambient scheme called Circuits to replace it, which I think rocks. But then of course that's what I'd think.

I'd love a copy of those sound files, I was already looking for a way to add something very similar to this.   ;D

I would love them, but how do I get them to work?

The four sound files that make the crowd sound effects when matches go off can be found at:

www.bestgameever.com/crowdsounds.zip

To put em into your sound effects, go to the engine\sound effects folder of Audiosurf (navigate to Audiosurf in steam\steamapps\common).

Then copy one of those file folders that's currently in there (chimes for example) and rename it something like chimesoriginal.  Then into the folder that's named "chimes", copy over these four files in place of the ones that are in there. Then whenever you select "chimes" in the sound effects, the crowd sound effects are the ones that will go off.

You could go wild with this and make whatever sound effects you wanted just to see what works. I did the best I could with it but am always looking for more cool sound effects schemes.

Thanks a ton lebeth, although I think 'circuit' would be the best one to overwrite.  Being zapped a multitude of times while working on electronics has given me an instinctual habit of cringing upon hearing those sounds.   :D

Also, while we're on the subject of sounds, why is the intro music the first time you load Audiosurf so loud?  It sounds like it was sampled about 6 dB's too loud, that's how much I knocked it down using Cool Edit Pro to make it 'normal.'

Hey--we'll have some volume stuff in place soon so you can easily change that menu volume.
