Mono-only scoreboards?
« on: February 29, 2008, 03:42:59 pm »
That would be nice.

Too many of the scoreboards can't get mono characters on them; monos are at a clear point disadvantage, even if they are (arguably) the hardest and funnest difficulty.

They are the most different of all the modes, there's no denying. If any deserve their own scoreboards it's the mono characters. But that seems like a bit of a cop out IMHO. Why not just balance them?

Clear point disadvantage? Hell, most songs I've seen have nothing but Monos, because Mono grabs the highest point value. The point ramp-up system (where each consecutive block you grab without hitting a grey adds +1 more to the block's point value when picked up... complicated to explain) clearly makes Mono a serious winner - unfair in many peoples' eyes.

It's a unanimous opinion that characters need their own scoreboards, now it's just a matter of waiting for it.

By the way, you're topic number, oh... about a billion, to have brought this up. ;)

lolwut? Look at any popular song and you will almost never see a mono. Eraser dominates along with a few Pointman and Pusher players. Ninja Mono can't even get a gold on many songs.

The relevence being? An Eraser and a Pusher are above all the monos in that chart. You said Mono has an advantage in points, and effectively just proved yourself wrong.

I enjoy seeing what different people did with different cars on the same song.  I don't agree that each character should have it's own scoreboard.

Mainly because I see Vegas and Eraser as the most often high scores.  Mono can only make top with stealth + Clean finish.  That's pretty tough.  The pointman just has to stockpile reds.  ::shrug::

Well, when the scoreboards come back up, my sig will show you my 200K on Mono, beating everyone else by about 50K.  ;D

It should be an addition, granted, but it still needs to be added -- especially the ability to seperate YOUR OWN scores between modes.

well, they fixed the horrible slowdown issues, maybe theyll fix this too...

now all they need to do is this and make it so lacks of 'the' or 'a' in tags will still show up as the same song.

Yeah mono has a very specific kind of gameplay, it would be logic to have a mono only scoreboard.

I play a lot ninja mono ironmode, and sometimes the difference of scores with other cars is annoying

I can only imagine that comment came from when Mono was a very different creature from today... Or someone was gravely mistaken. ;)
