I decided to play again tonight after a few weeks off and the game updated and promptly lost all my settings and user name/password. I would love to log in again however I can't submit my username to the .php as it doesn't appear the same as it does in the game and I really am tired of creating new accounts to play this game. Right now I am on my third account and every time the game updates I can no longer use my previous account.

Another more simple idea would be to allow multiple accounts to use the same e-mail address as I feel it stupid to open another e-mail account simple to upload scores for the third time. Somehow, outlook saved one of my dethroned messages and I was able to log back in through black magic on my first account. This game really needs an account management utility as so much of it is based on the scoreboards.

i tried the exe about 10 mins ago and still have no email from it, the wierd thing is though is i can log in to audiosurf on my laptop, but i cant on my desctop, and im possitive im using the right username and i even tried afew variations, but still no emails or working password
my desctop does register that my username already exists, but when i try to log onto it, no password works.

On your desktop, close steam and then delete the ClientRegistry.blob file in the main steam folder. Open steam and try it again.

nope, still nothing, and still nothing from the exe either.

i never heard back from anyone, i've also tried re downloading all the local files, which hasnt helped either, please advise

Could it be possible that on your desktop, Steam somehow thinks you're offline?

nah it wasnt, turns out it was because i was using ( ) in the username rather than [ ], which on the UI look identical, however although its not related to this thread, i recently did a 20 min song, with ninja mono, didnt hit a single grey, and the scoreboard has registered that i have done that, but it hasnt awarded me with either the stealth master or the 2nd one, i already had the first. is there any way i can use that as proof or would i have to do the song again?

I don't think there's anything we can do on our end about that one--sorry that happened to you, and on a 20 minute song!!   Some people have said that their steam achievements occasionally don't register, and we're not sure why this happens.

if its any help for debugging, after the song ended, before the scoreboard fully loaded, it claimed it couldnt contact it and i had to restart steam to let it log me back in, to which i found the score was registered, so maybe an added feature to catch such events and recheck leaderboard scores for things like that, since anything that doesnt need to wait for the end of the same is saved the instant it is completed.

I can't log into an account just created. The account name is "X'estrix" without quotes, -with- an apostrophe after the X. I think the ' threw it off, i probably escaped it without telling me or something. Any ideas?

EDIT: My guess was correct, trying to log in as X\'estrix works. Any chance this can/will be fixed?

EDIT: Even though I'm logged in, I can't submit scores, I'm assuming its related to the apostrophe as well. Its not a connection issue, because I can use my gf's account from this same computer just fine.

Can you offer the option to change your password? I reset my password ages ago, but now there's no way to put it back and I can't remember a random string of characters.

A simple piece of SQL will let you do it.... assuming you store account data in a database....

I've got the same problem... now I don't remember the password I used back when I tried the demo (I just bought the game), and now I can't reset it (not getting any e-mails back) nor use my e-mail to create another account as it's already taken, not to mention I would love to get back my *VeLeRoN* account

Can you please increase the security of the generated passwords? 6 characters and less and only letters is not safe. Perhaps a 10 letter/number combination?

Now I feel scared.  My email password is the same as my AS one.  That can't be good...

So I haven't played AS in like... ehh, about 4 months, just reinstalled steam on my comp and decided to try to log in.  Apparently my password is wrong (even though it isn't) and the password reset thing isn't working.

Is there an actual solution to this or people just expected to create new accounts when your password randomly doesn't work?
