System specs

Something I've been wondering and hasn't been brought up before is the hardware scalability. Out of curiosity, (and perhaps Dylan may wish to know as well) what kind of systems are everyone else using and what kind of performance are you getting?

  • Two four core processors at 2.66ghz for each core
  • Radeon X1950XT 256
  • Windows XP SP 2
  • 2 Gigs of ram
  • 1920x1200 resolution
  • Premium Effects

I run very smoothly, with no difference in performance at all between slow songs and intense songs such as Through the Fire and the Flames (although I haven't gotten a frame count, I'll try to do that during the next beta). Loading times for songs takes about 10-15 seconds (about 30 if from a cd) for the first time, although there is a very noticeable jolt right before starting if I remember. Gameplay does seem to be a bit smoother in windowed mode, but not game altering in any way.

I also haven't had any problems at all, although my system is probably too high-end to expect any.

e6750 C2D
8800GT 512
2GB RAM
Vista Ultimate
1680x1050
Premium effects

I never get anything even approaching slowdown.  Vista handles windowed mode seamlessly, and I prefer to play it that way much of the time while working/browsing/chatting/etc.

I believe some other posters have mentioned performance problems, so hopefully they'll post here as well.

I test on a P4 1.6 with a 32MB geforce2. It requires the lowest settings, but runs great.

Uh, this isn't a brag thread.  To be useful, your post has to include any problems you've had with the game.  Monitor size is utterly meaningless, sorry. :)

What happened to that guy who had really bad performance for his hardware?  If low quality runs on a bloody GeForce2, there must have been a shenanigan somewhere in there.

Athlon 64 X2 3600 (2GHz)
GeForce 7300GT 256DDR2 overclocked to 625/500
2GB DDR2 667
Windows XP Pro x64

On premium with screen effect it goes from 30 to 20FPS in intense sections.

I just changed the two screen effects form Paint and Outline to Solar and Negative because I didn't think anybody was using the old ones. Were you?

I really liked Outline, actually! Why not keep it and just add more options? :D

Paint was... not so good.

WinXP here, with 512MB RAM and a GeForce FX5600 128MB card, it's a Pentium 4 2.81GHz, if I recall correctly. It works perfect, haven't tried Premium effects yet, but it works. The only time the game paused and asked me if I wanted to lower the quality was in Fury of the Storm, but I didn't notice any considerable decrease in speed and stuff [since i didn't want to lower the quality and all]

Yeah. This is great since it doesn't need much to run, unlike most games nowadays.
