Not to sound immature, but if I saw one as a Penis, it would be fucking hilarious.

Seriously make that happen.

A Character that does what Ironmode Eraser does now. Except it just has no abilities, period.
R.I.P. the Mono Mishap.

What about a completely custom mode for those that just want to play for fun?
- Choose number of colors (1, 2, 3, 4, or 5)
- Choose car ability
- A checkbox for shoulders or no shoulders
- Checkboxes for available powerups (Example: Okay I want to be able to get multipliers, sorts, and rainbows but not the others)
- Choose number of lanes (2 (DVE style), 3, or 4)
- A moving-bar thingy for speed (from slow (like casual) to wtf fast (like ironmode or maybe faster D: ))
- Another moving-bar thingy for traffic (again from like casual to ironmode+)
Oh, and make number of players (1 or 2) an option too, that would be cool.

I don't have a clever name for it or anything, but I would love to see a 2-player mono mode... not necessarily like the "stunt double" idea, since I feel that would get really hard to keep track of in very intense songs, but even a toggle to make double vision play with mono rules would be very fun indeed. The combined combos between both characters would still work, too. I'd love to see this!

Aha! Already done. Visit this thread :3

Vegas Elite

~ No shoulder.
~ As opposed to staying the shoulder to gain shuffling time, the Vegas could simulate being overfilled (only without the point loss; just inability to grab blocks and stay in wireframe state) as the cooldown sequence commences. This could probably be mapped to left click.
~ Right click starts up a roulette of sorts, and during this time, you simulate overfill like before. A 3x3 (think Pokemon) slots machine shows up on the screen, and either right or left click will stop the roulette wheels one by one. Depending on what matches up on the screen, you can be awarded points, powerups, or even point loss penalites. It can only be performed once per ride, and the reward is given to be thrown out with the right mouse click, similar to Pointman. As a limit to prevent being used for an easy Clean Finish, impose a limit to the slot machine before it stops and gives a point penalty for taking too long.

This one is the ultimate in luck and gambling, like it should be. A good score would be composed of getting a good payout on the slot machine, and the rest of the points can be composed of grabbing anything you can get and shuffling it out in nice arrangements. It would be wise to keep from shuffling too much, or else you'll find yourself passing through too many blocks and missing out on tons of point opportunities. Anything to improve the competition in the Elite class is a plus right about now.

Vegas is my favorite and I definately want an elite Vegas.

^ I second that.

How bout a 2-player mode where it's head-to-head competition but both players are on the same 5 - lane track. they both can move to all lanes and each one chooses a character (mono mode would just have to be both players mono, since you cant have one person play colors and another play mono). They compete for points. If Player A hits a block, it goes into his grid ( on the side of the track ) and same for player B (on the other side). abundant powerups, maybe ones that hurt your opponent, too. I think it could be pretty fun.

EasyRide

Like freeride, but with combo scoring systems (making AS one of those "OMG HIT ALL THE NOTES FOR SCORE" games), with separate online charts and an Ironmode option that is the OPPOSITE of the freeride ironmode. (Freeride is can't hit a note, EasyRide is can't miss a note)

Burner
Speeds up the song to 1.5x for a limited amount of time, proportional to song length. Special ability can only be used a maximum of three times in a song.

ThrillRide

A more "roller-coaster" feel, ThrillRide has corkscrews and loops. Same rules as EasyRide\FreeRide.

VideoSurf

Video playing in background.
Now that's epic.
I suggest a Basher player type, 2x the blocks, 1.2x the speed, and a ton of greys. Oh and also, no shoulder.
Now wouldn't that be better bragging rights than Ironmode? Or imagine using them both at once :O

Quick Idea: CopyCat
Left click - place copy of last collected block onto field. Unusable until you collect next block.
Don't try to catch ze Night !
Remember: 'z' is better zen 'th' =) !

Duo
Kinda like the Icaruga idea, except two player. Player 1 must collect Black blocks and dodge white, while player 2 must collect white and dodge black. Correctly collected blocks turn multicolored, incorrect turn grey.

Shooter
Even more like a scrolling shooter: The player recieves points for shooting one type of block and points for collecting another type(s) of block(s). On the elite version player looses points for shooting the wrong block, and collecting the wrong type of block can overfill columns and mess up combos.

Mover
Terrible name, but I would like to see a two player mode where one player collects blocks while the other swaps them, erases them etc...

Mirrormen-
Just like Double-V except...(and there's a big difference)

Ability:

Each Mirrorman has a button that when held down will attempt to flip that block to the other side.
It costs points and drops into the board normally if it wouldn't make a match...

BUT, if that block would make a match if flipped to the other side of the board, (lane1 flips to lane4, lane2 to lane3) then the match is made for increased points...those points are given to the mirrorman who flipped the block.

Ease of Use (by 1 or 2 players):

Also, to make Mirrormen easy to use by 1 or 2 people, players are asked if they are playing alone or with a friend when they choose Mirrorman.

With 1 Player the Controls for Flipping blocks to the other side are mapped to the mouse buttons. (and the comma + period as usual)

With 2 Players the Left Mirrorman's flip button is the space-bar...
and the right Mirrorman's button is both mouse buttons.
(to prevent confusion with players who play Mirrormen alone and would be used to using the Right mouse button for the right Mirrorman)

Balance:

For balance (as defined by potential to get High-Scores) the Mirrormen would get a lowered amount of points for normal matches.

Clarification:

And to clarify Double-V style matches that cross the middle of the board, they would be worth what is the base amount for most characters.
(they wouldn't be decreased in points like the other no-flip matches made by the Mirrormen)

Unrequired but Useful Extra Feature for Multiplayer Characters:

And something I'm sure many people would like for any multiplayer character of any type is that the amount of points each person made be viewable after the song is finished.
(how it shows the 2 smaller point counters on Double-V for each player)

Comment:
Hopefully this is something that wouldn't be too hard to code (meaning all us Audio-Surf players could get our hands on it sooner!  :))

Completely Unrelated Comment:
Now please read all the above again; while pretending it was being read to you by a certain droid named HK-47.  ;)

Without looking through the entire list to see if it's already here, pusher-double viz.  It'd be way overpowered but a lot of fun.

Advanced Eraser
Use left button to erase as normal - but if you hit another block before the erase cooldown has happened, that block is collected
Use right button to erase only blocks of the chosen color which are not part of matches

Color replacer
Works like eraser, except that when you hit a color while pressing the left button, that color is "downgraded", as in red->yellow, yellow-> green... and violett-> disappear. White could be either "disappear" or red.
Hitting a color while pressing the right button upgrades the color - with a cooldown of 15-30 seconds.

Über-Pusher/Eraser/DVE/Pointman
Like the elite modes, except that there are also gray blocks which are resistant to all skills (cannot be picked up/pushed/erased), and disappear over time as gray blocks normally do.

Transformer
Make it possible to switch between Pointman, Pusher and Eraser (and Vegas in Pro) on the fly, maybe by pressing the middle mouse button. This also includes any scoring rules (like 100% bonus for Pusher).
I believe this idea has a lot of potential!

Oh, and video playing in the background sounds great, as does adjustable speed/traffic density/etc...

I would DEFINETLY want EasyRide. I always like to hit notes at the same time as the song, and hearing the sound effects in rhythm with the song is fun too.

It just seems boring having to dodge grey ones. I want to go in time with the song!

Those other characters are also pretty cool.
