Not sure about other people, but the only reason I use alternate accounts is for scoring with different modes. I've always liked the idea of having just one instance of one account on a scoreboard, but being able to see scores for the different modes used, either all at once or switching between them.

Maybe it should just be possible to see your personal highscores on a song aqcuired with different characters.

Doesn't need to be stored centrally either. A local storage could let you compare your runs across characters with the xstats as well as last run vs best run for a specific character, without server or scoreboard changes.
Australia is kinda awesome, but it's no Yorkshire.

Here's my POV. Steam's account system DRM is great for only children and singles, but a lot of people share their account because they can't afford buying all these games twice or it just doesn't make sense to them. 'Why should I buy two copies of this game?'

But then we get back at the "If you can share a steam-account, you can also share an ingame-account", which is, in my opinion, a rather valid argument.

If you don't want to pay twice, you don't get the luxury for having paid twice.

Also, I don't know HOW many people share an account - I know none, but maybe because I am in that category "single" and so are most of my friends.

If you buy a chair, why would you buy a second chair if for the same matter your housemate can sit on yours when you're not using it?

Really, it is YOUR chair, you can do with it whatever you want, as long as it's not illegal. Allowing other people to sit on your chair is NOT illegal and is even considered good karma most of the time.
Misinterpreted Cadiuro's post, left it here though since I like it.

=======================

The sharing steam account argument is irrelevant imo. It's a nice side-effect of ingame accounts, but not the primary reason multiple ingame-accounts should exist. I have already stated the primary reasons earlier.

I am enough idiot to block also this topic, and if aomtt has also enough idiot to continue toss old statements have been said and new statements no basis then block those yes.

Isn't sharing a Steam account a violation of the terms of service anyway?

I use multiple accounts for the purpose of comparing my runs with Pusher, Eraser and Pointman. If I don't do as well, I like to see where the difference is, be it blocks collected or clear match/sync bonuses etc. If I was able to compare my past runs, then I guess multiple accounts would be defunct. Although I do like the ability to use a different name to my Steam name.

Nice argument with the chair S.

Nope.  You are however held responsible for anything others do on your account.

Nice argument with the chair S.

I do also like the ability to use a different name from my Steam name, even if I wouldn't use it. But as you already stated, I think the option to see your different topscores for various characters would be a better option. 'Twould also save us the hassle of having to log out and in every time you want to use a different character. Also that was already stated somewhere - being able to choose your character after you've chosen a song is an option I'd really like.

Also, yes S, nice argument, but indeed you misinterpreted my post :p.
