SuperPhunThyme - Rate my Rides!
« on: May 26, 2012, 06:00:00 am »
Hey . I have been playing Audiosurf for quite some time and with different characters.
Within this year i started making videos of my Audiosurf rides and uploaded them on youtube.
So i would like you to watch a few of my videos, tell me how you like them and how i could improve my skills.
See my Channel here:
http://www.youtube.com/user/SuperPhunThymeAS
You can get to my latest ride by klicking there:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TSMdkEWMIqc&feature=youtu.be
The track with the highest Skill rating:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4_FtEvYhQ88

What do you think?
Btw there arent really much people who play harder dance styles on Audiosurf, but i would like some competition! Feel free to dethrone me!

I only watched some Pointman and Pushervids as I'm an absolute Eraser-noob myself, but you definitly got some nice runs in there!

I'm going to try and dethrone you now on that slowstyle song :P Just to see how I do in comparison.

You do have pretty high skill-rates, but I must be honest, they somewhat surprise me. While watching, I felt at several times you should try focussing on Chaining more - building them higher and keeping them longer.

Keeping a chain almost always >> clearing your match! If you DO know the chain is a lost cause, you can let it go, but otherwise, you might try gravity stacking (putting an unmatched block on top of your match which will drop down and keep the chain going). This applies to Pusher, of course (as said, I haven't watched your Eraser vids).
When you are in an area with a bazillion blues or purples (especially purples), don't fill three columns with a large purple match when your chain isn't all too high. It's better to keep pushing all these excessive purples and blues in the middle column, force clearing it all the time but that way also extending your chain bonus all the time. When you get back to the hot colours, they will be worth a lot more.

Also, I voted "Too much Eraser" because too much erasers.

Nice runs, I like the breaks in that DnB track you ran, since I'm a huge fan of DnB myself.

Only thing I can say about the play during that run is there's too much focus on clean matching reds.

ERtrysDynat told me to do it.

Hey thank you for your comments.
@ Cadiuro
Yeah i really sucked at chaining with Pusher^^ with Pointman it wasnt the best either. But i have impoved that already. So i will try more gravity stacking for bonuspoints and for keeping chains. Thanks for advice.
Well i just saw you dethroned me by 20k Points. I will try to get that score back! :D

@ aeminence
Hehe thanks for the advice too. I will try to go for more yellow and more blocks overall. But the feeling of getting a whole red cluster worth 50-60k ist just great.^^
You dethroned me on that track by 400k !! WoW! Nice one. I dont think i can compete with you right now, but i will train that track.
And yeah the breaks in that track are so much fun in audiosurf. Just a beautiful track and a much more beautiful ride!
