Why do so many people cheat?

I just downloaded Audiosurf a little while ago......how is it that I can only get 50-60K points on every song i play and the leaders get 700-1.5 mil points? its like they ALL cheat or something crazy like that. whats the fun in that? your going to buy software and go and automatically manipulate it? if you want that, then dont waste your money, make your own damn software and leave this alone. its not fair to the other players.

Most people get really high scores by taking advantage of bonuses, such as getting a 21 block combo or finishing without spare blocks. Doing these things multiplies the score manifold and the more bonuses you get, the higher the score. That being said, some of the scores are genuine cheats--for example Knights of Cydonia has a player who achieved over 8,000,000 points without getting a bonus, so while these people do exist, most of the scores are still done legitly.

the game has a very complex scoreing system, and some of it depends on the character, like mono cant get as high as scores as pointman or eraser can.

I´ve see a lot of mono players saying that the leaders on the boards are cheating, when the truth is that mono suck to get high scores.

The most common cheat i see is with mono character as leaders, when thats impossible cause all puzzle characters beat mono character. If you play mono, i´m afraid you will never beat a puzzle character  :)

Hmmm, this is some very good evidence. i guess i should have learned all of the game before i started popping off. i just didn't see how it could have been possible.
