Day of Defeat! That was the game I was looking for.

Now that this is settled, we can get back on topic.

Just look at Counter-Strike, Team Fortress 2 (both based on mods for the original Half-Life-multiplayer), some other Valve-game (I forgot the title, but the idea is the same)

Portal? That was a HL2 mod.

DOTA 2

Not a mod of a Valve game though.
Still was a mod though ;)
I am enough idiot to block also this topic, and if aomtt has also enough idiot to continue toss old statements have been said and new statements no basis then block those yes.

You can play AS in first person as well you know ;)

But thats unfortunately unplayable.

The blocks are by far too fat and big then - the cam should be not directly on street, it should be somewhat higher - about the height as if you were sitting in a car. Then you could see much better.

I think the camera is about the size of a car in ferst person. It's just that the blocks are enormous compared to the ship, even in third person.

Double post means posting in reply to your own message when no one else has posted. You didn't double post and hence confused people.

In summary of ideas so far:

  • Better support for lower end machines while utilising hardware of higher end machines for nice effects
  • Replay last run function (internal run saving for watching later)
  • Record function, render a previous run to video
  • In-game tag support (change, moddify, remove)
  • In-game playlist/ skip charts and auto-progress
Australia is kinda awesome, but it's no Yorkshire.

Record function, render a previous run to video

This rather should be done by DXTory.

If the engine can render frames to file, this will beat any capture system. Some engines can render playback at any resolution and refresh rate to file, much better than screen capture applications.

ya udk and source can do this, in udk it;s really nice for making promotional videos, since i can crank the res above my screen res, and crank the settings to the point it would be unplayable on a system like my, and have it dump the frames 1 frame at a time taking as much times as it needs per frame, and when all put back together into a video, it has a perfect framerate.

Something else I just thought of.

'twould be nice if one could first select the SONG and only then the character he wants to ride it with.

This way, you could open a song you like, analyze what kind of ride it is (high traffic, low traffic, downhill, uphill etc) and then decide what'd be the most character for it, without having to reload the song.
Maybe you could also check the tags you want to use here.

EDIT: Maybe the entire before-you-start-playing-the-song-screen could use an upgrade. As said, choosing which character and tags you want to use, but also already show the scores here, so you know what you have to aim for.

On the other hand, not knowing where you'll be in the scoreboards always is somewhat exciting.
