The Wiimote is slow, the Kinect is a disaster when it comes to how long it takes to interpret signals.
Audiosurf needs instant input. This is a game where the lag from a wireless mouse can cause issues and that is a much, much smaller delay than anything the Kinect can put out. It's just not a device well suited to Audiosurf.

Interesting as it would be to control with the Kinect, you'd not be able to realistically play anything other than casual characters with one.

Though a little critique on the visuals posted so far. The jet ski thing seems to cover up a good bit of your middle lane. I dunno if that will be a huge issue or not since your going to be moving around a lot. Kinda hard to tell if the particles on the sides would be too much going on either.

Well Graphics and Design is not final, so I'll just keep on waiting.

Good news though, since ASA has been announced, I find myself surfing many of the Albums I got since I stopped surfing regularly last fall. Loooooots of Albums to surf there xD Stopped when I barely reached 300 Pieces in my collection, now I'm at 425, and each needs to be surfed...

Correction, 427 xD

Really excited about it, can't wait to match my skills against it again. Guess who'll go for the top Mono Score in Black Fire, highest Traffic Metal Song i Know xD

I was announced on the 22nd and I have seen this possibility.  I hope that it's just not an April Fool because it would be very frustrating.  Creating a new subforum, creating a page, create a news on the front page, beta subscription, etc.  That would be so much frutration that people would see Dylan as a big jerk for doing that.

Anyone who plays an april fool's joke when it is not in fact april fool's is a dick, pure and simple.  This extends to everyone.  Dylan has been incommunicado for long enough that I find it highly unlikely there would be no actual work behind this announcement.

I doubt this would be an april fools, considering the beta signup and discussion about code. I would be disappointed if it turned out to be a joke.
