Nice message to ask for better communication between Valve and its fan base. But Valve is typically secretive about its development of video games. Knowing Valve, we will just have to wait patiently for the next iteration in the Half-Life series.

ERtrysDynat told me to do it.

For once it's not a "give us the game" message, but a "please talk to us" message. Valve do tend to not say anything, but as for sitting patiently; it's been so long since the last Episode.

It's great to see a couple of people here who actually understood the purpose!

Over on SPUF, there are many who didn't even take the time to read the goal of Red Letter Day and instead, whined about it being some sort of demand for the game "Now!"

The event fell far short of the membership in the group -- something like only 13,000 actually played.

Oh, well. It was a nice way to let Valve know that people still love the HL games and that they merely want to know a little something regarding their future plans for the game.

For the record, I played for a couple of hours overlapping the appointed time and will probably play a bit more later today.

Not that it matters...I just like the game. :)

Indeed it was a much more civilised set up, unfortunately many misread the situation and flamed based upon their own lack of knowledge.

The group succeeded in getting HL2 to the 11th most played game on Steam worldwide, which isn't an easy feat. HL2 is a wonderful game and it still holds up to recent releases. As much as I'd like to play the next instalment, I'm happy to wait to play the game in a finished state. Although a little more communication would be nice ;)

Easy. But I didn't complete it yesterday. But I still want to do that some day.

Personal record is in 2 sittings. Going for 1 sitting maybe tonight? Who knows.

i was avoiding all possible fights, liek basic zombies i dont even bother killing unless there blocking my way, since they are too slow to catch up with you, and on hard you can quickly drop combines just by spiriting by them and unloading the secondary fire of the shoty on them. on normal the pirmary fire of it to the face is a kill, and on hard the double barrel blast is a instant kill to the face.

I don't have any of the Half-Lifes. But I didn't get the message anyway.

Of why people want some form of communication?

You can get the complete for about $10 on sale now, play through the series and you will understand.
